On paper the idea sounds pretty solid, I'm pretty sure Sony could make it work for single player games, but I don't think online games would hold too well on a "Cloud" .

He would rather have a failing product on a piece of hardware that cannot support it, with a fanbase that is growing smaller every day. He truly believes that this is the best move for his company. If you knew how bad it was, you would be downright offended that it was the focus of next-gen consoles. Big companies are basically assuming that the average gamer is too stupid to feel the massive input delay on every game. They want to use that as an excuse to cheap out on the compatibility software, and stop physical disc distribution completely. I tell you now, that is one corner that CANNOT be cut.
